I just did now. Thanks. Are the lyrics posted anywhere?

I'm missing one word, maybe someone else knows it. But here goes. Great song!

The Harridan of Yore
She sat upon the plane
the Harridan of Yore.
And said "we're through" imperiously
Don't talk to me no more.

Her son, the imbecile
Was waiting for the throne
She had to get back to him
Cause he couldn't sit alone

Her hair was white as snow
Her(unsure of this lyric) sleek and thick.
A tiny vile of strychnine
Hung around her neck

He asked her sage advice
To which she did ignore
And glared at him like daggers
The Harridan of Yore

Chorus:

Her dynasty was long and rich
But not from sweat and toil
But from politics and baseball
Energy and oil

The befriending of dictators
Made her just a common whore
And she has no time for common folk
The Harridan of Yore

Solo

Repeat Chorus

And as the sun goes down
That one up in the sky
She has a regal bearing
Even though she's gonna die

Her family gathers 'round
With gold, and jewels, and rings
Much of which was paid for
By Saudi Arabian kings

And that stranger on the plane
Came to say "adieu"
She looked at him imperiously
As if to say "we're through"

He asked her sage advice
To which she did ignore
And she has no time for common folk
The Harridan of Yore

And she has no time for common folk
The Harridan of Yore

Has anyone figured out what the missing lyric is for Harridan? I still can't figure it out?

I have heard this song hundreds of times just to figure this out. After all, I once figured out every lyric to Exile on MainStreet. I just give up. If GP ever plays solo I plan on asking as I only ask (im)pertinent questions.

Over on Facebook John said that he thought the word was Onyx.

Her hair was white as snow
Her Onyx sleek and thick.
A tiny vile of strychnine
Hung around her neck

"Her bobbins sleek and thick"? ... maybe??

You know, bobbins, as in the hair accessories. I can imagine that Mrs. Bush might wear an occasional one of these (we call them "bobby pins" on this side of the pond), and it does make some sense that the line following a mention of her hair color might continue the description of her hair. But describing them as "sleek and thick" is a real stretch. Of course, GP is known for creative rhymes, and he probably figured very few people would ever hear the song, so perfection wasn't required ... and he also mumbled the line making it virtually impossible to figure out what he's saying.

Jerry, I have a funny suspicion that if you were to get the chance to ask Graham about the line, he'd say: "That rubbish? I can't remember."

I've put my ear up to the speaker with the volume up and I still can't make it out.

Too bad the song isn't on a 45. If it were we could listen to it on 33 and that might help.
