If you saw the Gramaglia movie you might get the joke when a bunch of Pink Parkers showed up on Big Jimmys merch mart. I wanted to corner the market but used restraint. Well GP is still opening For Garland Jeffreys and you can still get good seats on the day of show. How much longer will that last? This was the first show in The Year of The Parker, and GP professed nerves but pulled out some great rarities and hit all the marks. Did I detect a little bit of California laid back in some of the songs? Well not the new ones which are suitably dark. And he threw in Discovering Japan…did he know there was one missing chambermaid? Perhaps someone who stayed for GJ could comment on that cause when GP said he wasn’t going back out…I was outa there. Here is his setlist…

That’s What They All Say
Depend On Me
Problem Child
Under The Mask Of Happiness
Old Soul
Stick to the Plan
Back Door Love
I’ll Never Play Jacksonville Again
You Don’t Have to Live In Shadows
Discovering Japan
Too Much Time

_=--=
It didn’t make the nightly news, it was too much fun

I did not post here about this show, since jerilo said all that needed to be said about GP's performance (except for not noting GP's classy stage attire ... but that's my job). However, I have put my review of the show (including comments on Garland) up on a new website that I have been putting together. Here is a link to my review of this show:

Go take a peek if you are so inclined.

Enjoyed your website, Joanne. Great work! I've bookmarked it and will be visiting often.
